The blue Eastern Cape cycad, and the one everyone photographs. Rigid, wickedly spined blue-grey leaves on a compact caudex. Ours are grown hard outdoors so they colour up properly rather than running soft and green.

How to keep it alive
Full sun, gritty free-draining mix, and far less water than you think — once a week in summer, monthly in winter. Do not plant into heavy clay.
